Your Nailsium Q&A
1. How long do press-on nails last?
It really depends on which glue you use. When applied with our included nail glue or any professional press-on nail glue, press-on nails can last up to 3 weeks with proper prep and care. If you prefer to switch styles more often or want a gentler option for your natural nails, you can use adhesive tabs which usually last 3 to 10 days depending on your daily routine. No matter which method you choose, always prep your nails properly — clean with alcohol, lightly buff the surface, and avoid soaking in hot water for the first 2 hours after application. Each nail is reusable, so you can wear your favorite set again with gentle removal and proper cleaning.
2. Are press-on nails safe for my natural nails?
Yes, they are! Our press-ons are pre-made gel nail sets, meaning the polish is never applied directly to your natural nails. This makes them much gentler than salon acrylics or gel manicures. Both the adhesive tabs and glue we include meet European SGS safety standards (RoHS/REACH certified) — non-toxic, eco-friendly, and safe even for pregnant women or children.
3. Which is better, glue or adhesive tabs?
Both work beautifully — it just depends on how long you want to wear your nails. Nail glue gives the strongest and longest hold (up to 3 weeks). It’s perfect for vacations, long-term wear, or anyone who prefers a set-and-forget style. Adhesive tabs are quick, gentle, and easy to remove — ideal for short wear, daily change, or people who can’t wear nails long-term due to work, sensitive skin, or personal preference.
4. Can I shower, swim, or wash dishes with them on?
Of course you can. The only time you should avoid water is within the first 2 hours after application while the glue or tabs are still setting. Once they’re settled, you can shower, wash your hair, swim, or do household chores. Just remember: certain cleaning products contain strong chemicals, so wear gloves to protect both your nails and skin.
5. How do I remove press-on nails without damage?
Never force them off. Removing adhesive tabs is gentle — soak hands in warm water for 10–15 minutes until they loosen, and you can apply a few drops of makeup remover oil or baby oil around the nail edges to soften. If you used glue, gently lift one edge with the cuticle pusher, apply our glue debonder, and wait 5–10 minutes until the glue softens, then lift off carefully. Wash hands and your press-ons together to clean for reuse, then finish with cuticle oil or hand cream.
6. Are Nailsium nails reusable?
Yes! After each use, remove leftover adhesive, rinse with water, dry, and store in the box. Our salon-grade gel ensures each set can be reused up to 10 times when properly cared for. Tips: avoid acetone or harsh chemicals on the design surface.
7. How do I find my perfect size?
Finding your fit is simple. Measure the widest part of each natural nail in millimeters and match your numbers to our Nailsium size chart. If you’re between sizes, choose slightly larger — you can always file it down for a perfect fit. And if you need a custom set, we can handcraft it to your exact measurements. Returning customers can also request a free soft ruler for sizing.
8. How can I make press-on nails look natural?
Choose a length and shape that match your hand and press firmly along the cuticle during application. Each Nailsium set is made with a flexible yet durable gel base that follows your natural curve for a seamless, salon-quality fit.
9. Can I file or trim my press-ons?
Yes, absolutely. You can lightly file or trim them to adjust shape or length. We don’t recommend repainting or restyling, though — if you’d like a different finish, you can always request customization during your order and we’ll tailor it for you.
10. Do I need a UV lamp?
Not at all. Nailsium press-ons are fully cured and ready to wear — no UV light required. Traditional gel manicures use UV lamps that can dry and thin natural nails with long-term exposure, but press-ons let you skip that completely.
11. Why are Nailsium nails priced higher than fast-fashion brands?
Because every set is hand-finished and time-made, not mass-produced. Even the simplest Nailsium design takes over an hour to complete, using salon-grade gel and professional top coats for real durability. Our pricing reflects the craftsmanship, safety, and long wear — not just decoration, but design you can feel.
12. What are your exchange and return options?
We offer paid exchange or return options for any unused sets, regardless of reason (size, style, or preference). Just ensure the set hasn’t been worn and we’ll gladly process your request for a small service fee.
13. Do you offer sticky tab refills or single-nail replacements?
Yes! Returning customers can request free sticky tab refills once a month, and if you ever lose a nail, we offer low-cost single-nail replacements (around $2–5 each depending on design).
